I lost my Dad, my cheerleader and a great friend on June 12th, 2012.
He will hold a special place in my heart and mind always.
This was our trip to say goodbye to the best man I have ever known.
There were a lot of tears but there were smiles and sharing memories too.
The kids did great on the 22 hour car drive to Michigan.
Hanging with the cousins was of great joy to the kids who don't get to see each other that often.
This is the playhouse that my Dad and the Amish built.
The kids loved it, Dad.
Playing a little B-Ball with Vinnie
This is Max, Grandma and Papa's dog - the fattest dog ever, but the best pillow, table, horse for Josiah.
Papa's talking tree
Dad and son.
Grandma taking the time, as always to sit down and play a little with the grandkids
The cousin crew - missing a few.
Vin and Angie - cute picture
Playing Eucher. Some of my greatest memories are sitting around the kitchen table and playing cards with my Dad and my Uncle Chuck. In their memory we threw down some great stories and some great BS.
Still missing a few faces.
With Mom.
We tried to get a good picture - ahhh - good intentions
Cousin hugs are the best
So a funny thing happened on the way to the airport (to drop off Karen).....
We found some great childhood memories.
We loved going to Irish Hills every summer and visiting Prehistoric Forest and Stagecoach stop.
Everything is closed now but we "let ourselves in" anyway
(John says this is evidence of a crime - but I won't tell if you wont)
At Prehistoric Forest
Need some fertilizer for your garden?
Stagecoach Stop
Picked some strawberries for Grandma.
Grandma always finds time for the kids. Reading Katie a story.
We stopped at the Precious Moments Chapel in Missouri on the way home.
This mural is "Welcome to Heaven" and it has a sign that says "No more tears"
