Oregon 2015!!!!!

We are so fortunate to take a vacation to visit our family in Oregon!  This was a vacation that we had been planning for about 2 years and it was everything we had hoped for and more.  We spent most of the vacation on the Pacific coast just hanging out in the ocean.  The kids were so excited that even the cold water could not keep them out.
Thank you so much to my sister and her family for showing us such a great time - I am already planning our next vacation!!!
These are just my pictures - I will add more later!

We arrived on July 4th!  So we got to start our trip with a bang!
Fireworks Portland style

We took off for the beach the next day with a crew of very excited kids

The kids and us were so excited to get our first look at the Pacific Ocean

This was the happiest kid ever!

The octopus tree

We went to Cape Mears and got to go inside a working lighthouse

Very cool - I believe this is the shortest lighthouse I have ever seen :)

We went to Tillamook Cheese Factory - yum!  Katie loved the cheese bar and
who didn't love the ice cream!  Who knew they made such awesome
ice cream.  Seriously those are some happy cows

But the most fun was had just exploring the coast and finding treasures
that the Davis kids would never had seen otherwise

Seriously Jacob was so happy to be an ocean kid

The coolest thing for me was exploring the tide pools and
getting to touch the sea anemones and star fish

We went to Seaside for a day trip and got to explore a
very cool hands on aquarium

We took the kids to Fort Stewart to see the shipwreck
They remain unimpressed by this part of the trip

We also celebrated two birthdays on vacation
Happy birthday to Mom and Karen

Mom really enjoyed the wine selection (can you tell?)

We even got to dissect owl pellets - too cool

Dear Pacific Ocean - we can't wait to see you again soon :)
